The Karate Kid (2010) - 7/10

A solid remake. Great work by a very dramatic Jackie Chan and charasmatic Jaden Smith.

The Losers - 5/10

Pretty stock standard action flick, made bearable by Chris Evans and Saldana.

The Bounty Hunter - 3/10

Pure utter garbage. A waste of time.

There is a topic for Inception to talk about the film:

The Bikini Bandits Experience

If you love Maynard of Tool, Dee Dee Ramone, or Corey Feldman... this is a must see movie. Ok, erm, that is, if you also like absolutely no plot and girls in bikinis. Because.... that's basically the film in a nutshell; musicians, Corey Feldman, bikinis, and lesbian action.

The Expendables- 6/10

a pointless and mindless action romp. It's a bit of fun for the boys, but you'll forget it a few days later.

Last night I stumbled upon two seemingly alright films;

1. Afterlife - Christina Ricci is this chick who wakes up in the morgue and refuses to believe she's dead. Her boyfriend, Justin Long, is an upset lawyer who refuses to believe she's dead either. The movie involves a few plot holes and a creepy mortician and a really disturbed little boy. This film will make you think about your own mortality and definitely give you a few nightmares after watching.

2. Furry Vengeance - This is a film probably noted for TV commercials but it's theatrical release must have spanned only a few weeks. I never saw any trailers in theaters for it, just the tube. It was funnier than it looked, but had that same annoying "eco-friendly" message Captain Planet did. If you want an exact summary - here it is; Over the Hedge + Captain Planet - the gay green mulleted Captain = Furry Vengeance. It's worth a watch, but isn't an Oscar winner on ANY level.

Films with cute animals(a lot going by the trailer I saw) always draw me in. I usually let the 'message' in these kinds of films go over my head(especially eco messages) and enjoy the silliness.

That was what actually made it decently funny. :] However when I mean they toss an eco-friendly message, I mean they blow it up on screen in almost giant red letters. It's hard to send it over your head in this film. When every scene not involving the cute animals is about "cutting down trees is wrong" then everyone repeats it 50 times in a sentence. It (that and Brooke Shields) subliminally hypnotizes you, I swear after watching it I even went to a save the rain forest site.

The Descent (3rd viewing) - 7/10

I still rate this as a quality horror flick. It's already a classic in my eyes.

I just d/l the sequel, so I thought I'd watch the first in preparation.

Jumper - Have added the film to my rentals.

REC - The sequel is pointless and nothing special. The ending is absolutely rubbish too. Definitely not worth putting money towards.

They should have stopped at the British ending in the first film and made no more.

Tut tut. First is amazing though.

THEY MADE A SECOND DESCENT!? Das ist nicht gut! 0.o

Isklar, was the Descent sequel the equivalent to Return to House on Haunted Hill?

I just watched that recently and all I could manage to say was, "HOLY CRAP! SO THAT'S WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THAT ONE DUDE FROM ER." The rest of the film? It was nothing but blood, boobs, and Indiana Jones meets a retarded horror flick. No joke, the main leader of the group was an archeologist searching for an idol, and along the way bad things happen. Hmmmmmm.... anyone else heard that plot before? *COUGH COUGH* INDIE!

I didn't go near Return to House on Haunted Hill and probably never will. From what I've seen, The Descent 2 is Oscar winning stuff...
